Commitment to Environmental Sustainability in the Wood Industry

At Timber Team International A/S, we are deeply committed to environmental sustainability and responsible resource management in our operations, as well as in the operations of our trading partners. Guided by a comprehensive Environmental Policy, we aim to minimize our environmental footprint while ensuring the sustainable use of forest resources.

Certified Timber and Sustainable Sourcing

We prioritize sourcing timber from certified sustainable sources, whenever possible, to preserve natural resources and maintain biodiversity.

In 2024, 25% of the timber we purchased was FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified, and we are committed to increasing this figure to 50% by 2028. This goal reflects our dedication to ensuring that all our materials are responsibly sourced and compliant with global sustainability standards.

Sustainability Goals and Timeline

Our sustainability plan includes the following targets:

  • 2025: Ensure that min. 25% of our timber purchases are from sustainable sources governed by international certifications schemes.
  • 2028: Achieve 50% FSC/PEFC/OLB certified timber purchases, and implement third-party verification where required to achieve this goal.

Addressing Environmental Impacts

We acknowledge that timber harvesting and transportation contribute to emissions and ecosystem disruptions. To mitigate these impacts, we:

  • Promote forest regeneration by collaborating with suppliers who engage in sustainable forestry practices, including replanting.
  • Seek to streamline transportation logistics to reduce emissions from freight and delivery, where possible.

Specific Practices and Certifications

Our sustainability commitment is reflected through:

  • Strict adherence to the Regulation on Deforestation-free products (EUDR), ensuring all timber and timber products placed on the European market are both legally sourced and compliant with anti-deforestration policies as set out by the European Commission.
  • Collaboration with suppliers certified by FSC® or PEFC™, ensuring compliance with stringent environmental and social standards, and promoting FSC and PEFC to those trading partners who are not yet certified.
  • Active participation in global initiatives promoting sustainable forestry, such as tracking programs and forest monitoring technologies, where possible.

Upholding Ethical and Legal Standards

Beyond environmental responsibility, we ensure that all partners in our supply chain adhere to strict ethical standards. We:

  • Prohibit the use of child labor or forced labor in any form.
  • Require compliance with employment laws and uphold workers’ rights to fair treatment and organization.
  • Promote equality in hiring, wages, and working conditions throughout our supply chain.

At Timber Team International A/S, we recognize that sustainability is a shared responsibility. Through clear goals, certified practices, and proactive supplier engagement, we are committed to leading the wood industry toward a more sustainable future.
